The licensed Northrop F-5A Freedom Fighter is designed based on the plans of the real aircraft and impresses with accurate shapes, printed elements, and the colors of Luftforsvaret (the Royal Norwegian Air Force).
The model offers an opening cockpit with a pilot figure wearing a helmet, movable ailerons, and a removable landing gear – an ideal combination for play and display.
The set includes a display stand and a plaque with the aircraft name, scale, and the Norwegian flag – a great addition for aviation technology collectors.
Between 1966 and 1972, Norway purchased a total of 108 F-5 aircraft in various versions. These machines remained in active service for almost 35 years, and the last unit to use them was the 336th Squadron at Rygge Air Base. They were retired from active service in 2000.
With the COBI building set, you will build a Northrop F-5A Freedom Fighter model in 1:48 scale from 358 pieces, made according to the plans of the real aircraft with an emphasis on detail. You can look forward to distinctive prints, movable ailerons, a removable landing gear, and an opening cockpit into which you can place a simplified pilot figure wearing a helmet. The set also includes a stand and a plaque with the aircraft name, scale, and the Norwegian flag.
