The giant panda is almost impossible to spot in the wild – it lives in the mountainous regions of central China. Although it belongs to the bear family, it feeds almost exclusively on bamboo and does not hibernate because it is able to build up sufficient fat reserves. In recent years, unfortunately, it has been classified among endangered species.
